Grand Opening of the Hazard Perry County Tourism Welcome Center

We’re excited to share that we had our tent set up and were on-site at the grand opening of the new Hazard–Perry County Tourism Welcome Center in Hazard, Kentucky on October 3rd!

The Welcome Center, created by the Hazard–Perry County Tourism Commission, marks a major step forward for the region. Community leaders, local business owners, and many visitors gathered to celebrate the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Designed as a one-stop hub for visitors, the center offers maps, brochures and on-the-ground support to help travelers discover the beauty and culture of the area — from scenic mountain vistas to ATV and mountain-bike trails. Tourism board chairman Terry Feltner noted that this facility is a “major upgrade” from the previous center, and emphasized the goal of supporting existing events and creating new ones to bring more visitors into the region. Board coordinator John Epperson added that the team has already welcomed many out-of-state visitors, and the hope is that when people experience this region — its landscape, its vibe — they’ll come back again. The center will also feature a digital screen outside, displaying announcements and updates for passers-by on Main Street.
