For me, that was my very first four wheeler: a Yamaha Raptor 80 my parents bought me when I was little from what used to be Yamaha of Jackson.

I can still picture that morning. They delivered it to our gouse and there it was—my own four wheeler. I didn’t know it at the time, but that little machine would give me some of the best memories of my life.

Once I got that Raptor, I was glued to my dad’s side. Wherever he went on our property on his Honda Foreman, I was right behind him—trying to ride like he did, learning the trails, and soaking up every bit of time I could with him.

Those rides taught me a lot more than just how to handle a four wheeler. They taught me:

• How to respect the outdoors

• How to ride safely and responsibly

• How to enjoy the simple stuff

• And honestly, how important that time with my dad really was

Some of the best talks we ever had weren’t at a kitchen table—they were sitting on our four wheelers after a ride, mud everywhere, just taking it all in.

The cool thing about off-roading is how it naturally gets passed from one generation to the next. The same way my parents gave me that first Raptor, families today are doing the same for their kids. It’s more than a present—it’s a doorway into adventure, confidence, responsibility, and quality time together.
